Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Today is the day 'o the wearin' of the green. Which I did. I was dressed in green from head to... calf. Why calf? Because I was wearing brand spankin' new socks I had just knit, which, while I think are wonderful (probably the best I have knit so far), they are most assuredly NOT green! In fact, I might call them my Buddhist socks, as they are red and yellow (saffron-y). So, Husband looked at the outfit, and said, you need something on the socks that's green, just for today. So I tried to find some green yarn. OK, I have enough yarn to insulate the house, a la Yarn Harlot. Could I find un-knit or un-crocheted green yarn?

No.

This, is annoying. I have to find some green-y SOMETHING to put on the socks!

I mean, now it's the principle of the thing.

AH HA! Some green ribbon... Can I fish that through the stitches?

YES!!!

And so, the official Irish Buddhist sock...

In other news, just in time for St. Patrick's Day (actually, one day early), one of my hens laid a green egg. Don't have a picture for today, but it's pale green.

So, have a beer, no snakes, and may you be in Heaven an hour before the Devil knows you're dead!

Thank yew! Thank yew! (grin)

Yes, the chicken is aracuna... A mix, anyway... It's little black hens that are real old by chicken standards, but they do still lay the occasional blue or green (or even on real rare occasions orangey-pink) eggs.
