Strung out, awarded, and recovering...

Well. Man, you know, I get into something, and I just do crazy things. I have the guitar strung.

This involved several times of string on, drop string, tangle string, UNtangle string, catch finger (or thumb) in string or on fret, swear, start over. Then Husband came over and so verrrry carefully and tenuously suggested that the reason that the strings were tangling ON the guitar, (more or less rolling from the allotted spot onto and over to the next spot open, which may or may not be occupied by the next string...), that perhaps, maybe, I might consider... restringing the first three?

I considered screaming, glared at my Husband, and, trying desperately to be civil, (and probably failing, albeit hopefully not epically, which I have been known to be, on more than one occasion...), and told him this was how the guy at the music store had said that I was to string it. He nodded, okay... But look, this string, if it goes here, won't keep rolling into the next one and tangling. And they will come out more uniform. Did you also know you have a LOT of string left over?

I glared at the guitar. One of those annoying times, yes, once again, Husband's background, logic, and just plain good sense was a pain in the butt real eye opener. I realized that yes, it would string more easily if I did the reverse of what had been shown me. Guitar still sounds fine. And I explained, yes, there was indeed a lot of string left over. I bought standard guitar strings for a 3/4 size guitar. He nodded. I finished stringing. Nylon strings are really stretchy, and sort of whip all over the place, Husband made a wise choice in going somewhere else after that, I probably would have flayed him alive a couple times, even with the more easily strung method. But, it is stringified! Now I just have to actually get the silly thing tuned and start practicing. I will be doing so, soon as I can hear correctly again. (More on that in a moment...)

I received an award! Cool! See???

Now comes the rules part.

"Each Superior Scribbler must in turn pass The Award on to 5 most-deserving Bloggy Friends.

Each Superior Scribbler must link to the author & the name of the blog from whom he/she has received The Award.

Each Superior Scribbler must display The Award on his/her blog, and link to This Post, which explains The Award.

Each Blogger who wins The Superior Scribbler Award must visit this post and add his/her name to the Mr. Linky List. That way, we'll be able to keep up-to-date on everyone who receives This Prestigious Honor!

Each Superior Scribbler must post these rules on his/her blog."

Uh. Since I just received this award, I will have to contemplate. Hmm. Okay... Uh...

(crickets chirping loudly... Jeopardy theme song... DING!)

  1. Knits in Church
  2. Knit One Max Too
  3. Enter the Blogger (see, you just need motivation! Heh...)
  4. Knittinwolf
  5. Merry Perennial

Ok, you have been officially awarded, with all rights and honors thereof. And I think I was supposed to make those light up and link. Er, if you just look over to the right, I know that THAT part will get you there. I will work on putting names in lights later...

I received this award from http://hecate-metamorphosis.blogspot.com/ (Hey! It worked!)

Ok, did I get all the rules covered? Hmm. Oh. Mr. Linky? Huh? (Grumble. Links. What do I look like, a sausage? Oh, right, I do. Never mind...)

Uh. http://scholastic-scribe.blogspot.com. I hope that works.

So. Now then. Why are my ears not working? I think I had a cold. Or a very bad allergy attack. It wasn't bad, like I was down, but I have copious amounts of liquid of a gross and highly disgusting nature in my nose. And ears. Making everything sound like it either is submerged, or I have this odd ringing. Bless him, Husband said to answer the phone already.

Pbbt. Heh.

Snif. I am not 'sick', but it makes for a STRANGE sound sometimes... And garbled. But it is fast going away, taking some antihistamines, and that seems to make things a bit better. Hope it gets GONE, soon, however... Ickity...

And here I subtly add,

Happy Birthday to My Patient, Loving, Smart, Wonderful Husband, that only occasionally reads my blog, but is really a great person anyway...

Shhh, he doesn't want anyone to know he's 50!
