Blasted deer at least missed these...

(I decided to write a couple ahead, so I didn't look like I had vanished off the face o' the earth.)

I truly HATE the deer around here sometimes...  They have eaten all my blue flowers.  What is it they like about the blasted blue flowers?  They normally destroy my tulips, but this year, it was all the blue stuff.  They did dine on the leaves of a lot of my tulips, but not the flowers...  So far.  (sigh)

They have left my "Ice Stick" tulips alone, for which I am heartily glad...

The group...

And a group of smiling faces!

So, more later, but at least these, and my daffodils seem to be un-munched...  The slugs seem less than excited about my flowers this year.  Diatomataous Earth seems to work!  That and in one spot, a dose of Sluggo.

Ah, the joys of gardening...

I am still wondering how much deer tags are. Hmph.

I hear you! The deer around here do a lot of damage also. My gardens are planted with "deer proof" plants. They don't like Daffodils, so that's a good choice. Let's see, Bee Balm, Butterfly Bush, Peonies all seem safe.

I also have this truly noxious spray. It's out in the garage and I can't remember the name exactly, but I think it's something like Deer Off. It smells like rotten eggs, but, it works. I have to keep all of my day lilies and hostas sprayed, or they get chewed to the ground. I'll dig around out there today, and let you know the exact name.

I have been working on deer proofing my plants, but two or three of the ones I read are "deer resistant" seem to be ones they LOVE, (guess it's cause deer can't read?)...

I would have to check on a couple of those, I think the peonies have done alright, but I would have to check the extenstion about the others (some of the ones are not allowed in Oregon, but right now can't remember which...)

I don't use the sprays, I just don't remember to put it on enough to make a difference. The only things that seem to help is putting Rudee hairballs around things, and he would pick NOW to NOT shed...

But thanks!

I agree, I might even get some more of them sometime!

If anything is not allowed in Oregon, it's probably bee balm. Stuff spreads like a weed. I did check that spray, just in case, and it is Deer Off. Comes in a bright blue bottle. I am very proud to proclaim that I had to put the first application on the new, tender day lily shoots that are now coming up.

I have no idea, but I will check, I have an extension agency I can contact, so it's a fairly easy thing to do.

I think I have heard of Deer Off. I might try it at some point, I just am so terribly bad about forgetting to use sprays, it's sort of a waste of money. :/ urk...

Dee, who still thinks they sound like good ideas...
