Like he's reading this blog, but... (And a contest!)

Happy Birthday, Tom!  Hope you got over the bronchitis, (that is miserable crap, huh...)  Take care, and enjoy yourself.  Oh, and Mojo, it's great!  Most of the deputies even like it...  (Though I think I am going to have to start bringing some other disks in, some are about at the limit of my playing it.  A lot...  Every Wednesday...)

Does this not look like a guy enjoying himself?

So, to the readers that I really do have, what kind of music do you like?

I am not sure if I've asked that question.  Although I am a Petty gal, I have very eclectic tastes, I enjoy everything from rock, to pop, country, rap (some, I really detest the "I wanna kill and rape everyone" stuff), some jazz, even some classical.  (I find heavy metal to be a bit more than I can handle, but I think it's as much because I don't like high pitched noise more than anything else.  Volume could have something to do with it, too...

I was trying to think of what I had (besides Petty) just on my one MP3 player... It's rather heavy with rock, but there is a variety.  Areosmith, AC/DC,Beatles, Blue Oyster Cult, Dire Straights, Bruce Springsteen, CCR, Charlie Daniels Band, Cheap Trick, Chemical Brothers, Chumbawumba, Coldplay, Don McLean, Doobie Brothers, Duran Duran, Foreigner, Garth Brooks, Golden Earring, Inner Circle, Jefferson Airplane, Jethro Tull, Jon Melloncamp, John Stewart, Jon Bon Jovi, Kenny Loggins, Paul Simon, Perry Como, Queen, Ricky Martin, Ricky Skaggs, Saffire, Santana, Starship, Steppenwolf, Styx, Supertramp, Sweet, The Cars, The Doors, The Who, Van Halen, Warren Zevon, Mason Williams.  And there are probably some more, but I can't get the machine to tell me other than "Various Artists"...

I also listen to Johnny Cash, Sons of the Pioneers, Ke$ha, Charlie Pride, Vivaldi, Leadbelly, Katy Perry, Marty Robbins, Neil Diamond, Lady Gaga, Goldfish, The Byrds, Tennessee Ernie Ford...  Do you get the idea I like music?
Anyway, any suggestions on your musical enjoyment?  What is your favorite song?  Does anyone have musical "moods", like I do?  If I am in a bad mood, I don't want to listen to fast music.  If I am really busy, I like music with a fast(er) pace.  I listen to instrumentals if I want to relax and go to sleep.  I even have specific songs, on occasion (Petty's "Alright for Now", I relax and am ready to sleep.  Except when the darn player then goes to AC/DC's "Highway to Hell".  Just a tiny bit jarring...)
*****

I lost 1.8 pounds.  I am pleased.  I think that the walking has helped.  Everyone else has noticed my weight loss, I couldn't see it.  Bless him, as only my husband could do.  He grabbed the back of my pants, which are now looser, and said, "See?  You have a saggy butt!"

I laughed, then reminded him that telling women they have saggy butts MIGHT be taken the wrong way, but that I did truly appreciate the compliment.  He looked happy, I felt happy, and I know that something is happening, even if I can't see it.

I have been able to walk more steadily, without stumbling, and stand for microscopically longer periods of time.  So, I guess those show something is happening, too.  Just have to keep in mind, I didn't get here overnight, I certainly am not going to get back to 150 over night.

Oh, and if anyone is interested, this is my 400th blog entry.  (Which impresses me that I "talk" that much...) For no other reason than that, I am going to have a contest.  If you leave a comment on today's blog, I will put you in a drawing, with your choice of prizes.  Drawing will be, oh, Friday.  It will be something highly technical, like putting the names on slips of paper and taking them from one of my numerous hats.  My thought is there will be one prize, but we'll see what I decide, there might be two.

If you are a spinner, I will send you some fluff.

If you are a knitter, I will send you some of my hand spun.

If you are neither of the above, I will make you a knitted item, either a hat or mittens.

Of course, you have the option of mixing that up, if you are a spinner that REALLY wants mittens or something...

(Please note, you WILL get said prize, but I am not known for my alacrity, but I will get it to you.  I have my email on the blog, bug me if you get worried.)

Oh, and to my family?  You are welcome to comment, but you are not eligible, because I will probably make you a hat and mittens, anyway...

So, let the commentables begin!

First of all.... I just about died laughing at your comment about nuts and flakes on my other post! I AM nervous!

Music... I like different kins of music, classic when I am really relaxing, then there are the ones that get you moving, like "Celia" by S & G or somebody's song, It's the Season (or reason). I really don't memorize the names of who it is unless they are special to me. Does that make sense?

Saggy butt... be proud, I do not have one, everything else is sagging, but I believe I could put a platter on mine. Congrats on the additional weight loss!!!!

Wow 400 posts! Time does fly when you're having fun!

Enjoy the day!

Your music choices sound fabulous to me. I also like the rhythm of rap, but not the message of the harder core stuff.

To keep the depression away, I mostly listen to upbeat selections right now, lots of Christian bands.

I do like at least some of most sorts of music, except some of that contemporary jazz that sounds like the same notes over and over for 10 minutes. Sweetie listens to that, and after a while I am ready to scream.

Happy 400th Blogiversary!

what a fun contest, Cat!
Ok, my playlist. It sounds a lot like yours. I am a serious Clapton, Beatles, Dire Straits, Eagles kind of gal. Rod Stewart, Barry Manilow at times. Even some country, like that cute Keith Urban guy. I like.
I do have a couple of Lady GaGa songs on my ipod, and of course every self-respecting hippie mama has Pour Some Suagar On me on her playlist. Some oldies-love me some oldies, and I do adore a little bit of bluegrass at the right time.
Have you ever heard of Montana Sky? A husband-wife duo-he is on the guitar, she is on the electric cello-O.M.G. The album I have contains their version of Message in a bottle and The House of the Rising Sun. Totally neat.

I already have some lovely items this lady has made and I am not family. I am one of her lurking readers tho.
Let's see, musical interests. Just about everyone you said except the ones I have never heard of. :-) I do enjoy your blogs and look forward to Wednesdays and Sundays now. One of the first things I check when I get home from work or get one the computer. Keep up the good work and I look forward to reading your 400 thousandth blog. :-) (and the pictures, I like the pictures)

Isn't it funny, I need to walk to get my appetite back and gain back the weight I lost while injured. Congrats on your weight loss though. A saggy butt is a good compliment. I like classical when I'm alone at home, jazz and R&B when I'm with my husband, and rock and country when driving a car. Mostly oldies stuff since I'm one myself. If I win, you need to know that I neither spin nor knit. Wish I could, but I cannot.--Inger

If I win I want to see a picture of your spinning wheel outfitted with a flax spike.

Congrats on the 400th entry AND the weight loss! Ummm, I'm a crocheter, not a knitter, so if I happen to get lucky and win, I'll take some of that handspun ;-)
