DIY Redneck Zen... In the fog.

So, I wanted to have the pictures when it wasn't foggy, but... Mom Nature said "HAHA, PBBBBBBT on THAT!"  So, I show you, as best I can, the little 'meditation area' that Husband and I made.  Husband gave me the little white shelter thing, it was a riot, we put it, upside down, on a trailer, to get it to the spot,  looked like we were moving some dead prehistoric bug... And I put the tarp on, then Husband helped me make it less rain holding, and more rain SHEDDING, and I put a chair there.  Ta da!  A space to sit, and watch the world go by.

Right here, the world consists mostly of rabbits, deer, and birds.  And a dog chasing same, on occasion.
(I think you can click on the pictures to make them bigger...)

This is the view from that seat.  If it were not foggy, you could see a whole section behind with more trees, not a mountain, exactly, but another tall hill, covered with firs.  The spot there in the mid ground is where we put brush and downed tree limbs, things that end up making a rabbit home...

And this is my exercise partner, he finds that a little meditation is good for the soul, too.  When he isn't busy eating the 'carpeting', or chasing deer...

(Sorry, I don't know why the picture is to the left, Blogger and I are having a disagreement on the word CENTER today.  Sheeeeesh.)

Excellent place to meditate! (or just sit and chill) Lovely view!

I believe we all have had our turn or two with blogger stubbornness!

Cat, where's your little side table for your tea or coffee, or whatever else you want next to you? Or are you supposed to do that sort of thing when you are 'zen'ing'? I envy all that open space you have. Gorgeous, fog and all!!!

I sure enjoy it. And I won't say anything more about Blogger other than... grrrrrrrrrrrr...

I don't have a side table, because this is usually after I've excersized, and I am about a quarter mile from my house, uphill... It's a good idea, tho. I do enjoy the space!

Even with the fog, I think it's a fabulous spot.

Reminds me of the saying, "Sometimes I jest sits and thinks, and sometimes I jest sits."

This would be a wonderful place to do both.

Your property is beautiful.

I think so, too. Even if it is a tad chilly in the fog...

And yep, I do both. I refer to the "jest sits" part of the equation as Dial Tone Brain...

It looks like a Swedish meadow surrounded by fir trees. I had the same idea after I visited the Zen retreat here in the canyon. Since it doesn't rain often, I just set out my little old bench up on the hill and now I go and sit there and watch the world go by. I'll write about it sometime soon.

Never having been to Sweden, I will take your word for it, but I like it. I would love to see a picture of your "zen" place!
