F. Flying in the morning.

The silly things that can happen around here.

We have wild turkeys that roost in the trees next to our house.  We watch them regularly, and now that I have stopped feeding birds near my rock garden, they are no longer a nuisance, and are actually fun to watch.  They are also 'gathering together' as a bigger flock for winter.  I didn't know that they would do that, but they have gone from a group of about 12 to almost 20 at this point!

Anywho, we opened the blinds this morning, and the turkeys were just coming out of the trees.  They glide down into the neighbor's horse pasture, and land just on the other side of the fence.

I admit, I started it.  The first one went by, and I called out, PILOT TO BOMBADEER!

Next thing, husband starts, LANDING GEAR ENGAGED, CLEAR TO LAND!

I piped up, OBSTACLE ON THE RUNWAY, ABORT, ABORT!! (One of the turkeys had nearly landed on one of the others...)

This went on for about a minute or two, we used probably every cliche' from war movies, airplane disaster flicks, and just jargon we could come up with as each one landed.  We were chuckling a lot by the time the whole group was actually out in the pasture.

Somehow, I don't think the turkeys really would have appreciated the "control tower" comments...

But we had fun!

(I will try and get pictures, if I can, the camera is acting up, I think I might need to replace the batteries...)

How cool! Yep a nice little short movie clip of that with your narration would be fun!

My neighbor had a wild turkey make a nest in her garage. That was a surprise. Sounds like you had a lot of fun!
