G. Gobblers and garden (eventually).

We thought the neighbors had run off the turkeys (again...), but I had heard them for the last few days.  Husband had said he'd seen them, but I hadn't had the chance this season... Until this afternoon...

And the tomatoes I have grown are doing pretty well... If looking lazy.  They don't have enough light, I suspect, but they seem healthy, and since these are (for this area) waaaay long season tomatoes, I have to give them all the help I can.  The kohlrabi is doing pretty good, too, I suppose, but it always looks spindly to me, even when it has the big bulb thing on it. Guess it's just a new crop for me, and I am still not used to how it looks.

So, I am still holding out hope that we will be able to plant these in soil, and I won't have to learn hydroponics...

Bigger Girl is planting, too, and wants to learn hydroponics. She thinks it's cool.

Happy Gardening!

I wouldn't mind hydroponics, if I wasn't using the garden out back to learn on! ;) I think it looks like a great way to grow things, however...

I've started some seeds in a hydroponic "Aerogarden". Last year the ones I started in the hydroponic garden out performed the ones I started in seed starter mix. But... I just don't have that much money for the hydroponic garden kits, so again, I have things in both media.

Why are you running off the wild turkeys? They occasionally wander in around here and strut their stuff, I enjoy watching them.

Those turkeys look like they mean business!

No, *I* am not running off the turkeys. We have a neighbor nearby that considers them unsanitary and destructive, and she calls Fish & Game and has them removed. (This is a woman with several dogs and raises cattle...) No, I like the darn things, now that I figured out why they were tearing up a spot in my garden. (Bird seed scattered. Moved Feeder, no more problem.)

They are really shy, actually, they are intense on dinner, but get out to watch them, and they run off, or fly away.

I want to try it, eventually, but I need to set up some space where if I am a klutz and spill something, it doesn't cause a problem. But right now, about the only thing I could plant in my garden out doors is rice!

Very impressive to have grown those tomato plants inside to this point! Hydroponics may be be my only option since I live in a 3rd condo with only blacktop below.
