I put a bird house out this spring.
No birds.
Huh.
Went out and found a twig perfectly blocking the door. So, I removed said twig, and put it a little more securely on the tree. We shall see if there is any visitors. I know most of the others have been checked out!
One family, cosy do-it-yourselfer. |
In a good neighborhood, with a lovely view. |

Throw out some seed to see if food will attract the new home owners.
Looks like a nice ready-to-move in bird house! Should have takers real soon I hope.

Hmm, maybe then entrance is too large. What size is the basket? If large enough looks like the barn swallows might like it, in a covered location.
Our swallows are already busy with their nest. It's fun to watch them dodging in and out of the lean-to shed.
I'd move in there... if I could fit! I love the view!
It would appear that you live in a beautiful part of the country. How fortunate you are.
Any bird would be crazy to pass up that opportunity! Lots of room to spread their wings without any neighbors breathing down their necks. BTW, what's the asking price?
I’m a new follower via the A to Z. Nice to meet you!
Hmm, i guess by the twig you at least know some overly ambitious home builder tried once. Let's hope someone with a bit more sense -- less of a bird brain? -- tries next time.
Maybe, but we have turkeys that like to dig, so I don't get very generous with food, as they will get expansive in my gardens!

I hope so, but the tree itself is nice to look at...

I wondered that myself about the door, I would say the basket is about the size of a football, give or take an inch. We have several in the other bird houses so, yes, we have fun watching them, too.

Where's the shrink ray when you need it, huh? It's a wicker type material, so it might be a smidgen drafty, though...

I think so! On both counts! :)

Welcome! Um, lots of tweeting, and keep the bugs to a minimum? Sound fair? ;)

I wish that were so. No it was the placer of the tree house that didn't notice the small bud. Which grew... Up.
