Words, and making sense of them... and Window.

(I am not sure where the screw up occured, but this blog WAS for yesterday, and it didn't show up.  I will put X and Y on tomorrow's blog, to make up.  This is when I love technology... NOT.)

I love the group Celtic Woman, and most especially "Orinoco Flow".  (Enya was the original artist, I just happen to like the CW version better...)  Anyway, I heard this, and looked it up on YouTube.  That's where the trouble began.

I swear I heard the line near the end of the song, "our chickens at the wheel."

WHAT???  Chickens??!?

I listened again.  And again.  And several times more, until one of the deputies politely told me he was going to break the computer if I listened to it again... (I guess half a dozen times in succession is a bit much.)  So, when I got home, I called it up again, and still heard chickens at the wheel.  Well, when all else fails, Google it.  I found the lyrics... There is no chickens mentioned, not so surprisingly.  The line is actually "We can steer, we can near, With Rob Dickins at the wheel," which is actually a reference to someone in Enya's life, not poultry...

But it gave me this crazy image... (Sorry, I cut the top off...)

(How Dooo I steer?)

And just because I thought it was a nice view of our oak tree, (no yellow ribbons, tho)...

There is a whole website, i believe, devoted to people who admit having misheard lyrics, what they thought it was, and what it actually was. It's probably pretty funny.

Steering chickens. That's funny, too.

My sympathy on Bogger messing you up, it didn't publish mine right, either.

Haha! That cracked me up! Made me think of a new version of "Jesus Take the Wheel."

Mondegren is the word for messed uo lyrics. If you Google it you'll find websites devoted to this.

My husband took me to see the Celtic Women when they came to Phoenix.
What beautiful music!

Well, you know I am going to have to look this up, as I mishear lyrics regularly. I don't think my hearing is going, I think that perhaps I just am listening to the music more than the singer, perhaps. Or, I am just goofy. Meh.
