New Year... And... ?

So.  Today I have finished several loads of clothes, cleaned the kitchen COMPLETELY, down to bleaching the shelves (we had a mouse, I think it had diarrhea.  I am also highly paranoid), and general cleaning.  I wanted to say to all my Blog Friends, Happy New Year, and thank you so much for reading my blog.  I love catching up on all of yours, (even tho I don't always comment... eep...Haven't been on the ball with that.)

So, resolutions? Nah.  I have set a goal.  I don't consider that the same thing.  It might be semantics, but I think a goal is a bit more relaxed, and more attainable than a resolution.

(See? Semantics...)

Anyway, this year I will get my 1st draft of my book written.  I have put it off, and I have several parts of it, fully formed, in my head, but so far, that doesn't let anyone else have a peek.  (Even if some people imply that looking in my left ear is a possible view port...  I keep telling them it's just the view out the RIGHT ear...) So, I am going to have to put something on my blog, on the edge, perhaps, to show what writing I've finished.  Pages finished? Words written? Chapters finished? I will try and get something up by the end of the week, at any rate, even if it's, yep, I wrote some.  Hey, it's better than what it's been for quite a bit of late, (groan...)

I am doing pretty well with my exercise, so that will continue for the new year.  I am up to three miles a day, 6 days a week, and cardio/strength 3-4 days a week.  I will not meet the walking this week, due to my ankle swelling, and being nasty wicked hurting, so I will do more strength/cardio (husband's suggestion), and that way at least I am still staying active. (And mopping the ding-dong floor ISN'T??? LOL)

I want to work on clearing out my UFO's in my knitting room.  One way I need to do this, I need to actually go through and see what is IN my UFO pile.  When you have an entire shelf dedicated to this, it's easy to lose track of just what's on the shelf.  So, I will start by sorting. Is it something I want to go ahead and make, yes or no?

If no, it will be carefully taken down and un-done, to be used for hats, or baby blankets, or back to the general stash...  I will make an effort not to start new projects for a bit, until I have this accomplished.  I was informed I'd said this before, and I am sure I have.  Does that mean I can't try again?

Meh.

I don't include new hats, or baby blankets in this particular thing, as that is ongoing charity project area.  Hopefully, that will make it easier.  Either that, or I will end up with several dozen blankets and hats started... ; )

Annnnd... The blog.  I say now, I will work on writing at least once a week.  I was really sluffing off there for a while, (I really hadn't put anything on my blog for HOW many weeks???)  I will also try and get back to commenting on other's blogs, even if it's short.  (Is "Hi!" okay?)  ; )

Also, I will knit myself a new avatar.  I am Knitcat or Knitkitty on a lot of groups, and my cats 'n kitties have been either "the cougar", or some of my previous cats, most of them now past tense.  Well, through a bit of serendipity, a gal on Ravelry (a knitting group), sent me a pattern by accident.

Of a knit cat.  That is, a cat you knit up.  AFTER getting the UFO's under control, I am going to make up a fantastic colored kitty, who will be knitting.  The clean up time will give me a bit to decide on color of kitty, what to do for it knitting, and so on.  And besides, it just looks like fun.

So, raise a glass to the New Year!  (Oh, and perhaps putting something nice to sip in it would be good, too!)

No resolutions for me neither!

The knitting kitty sounds like it will be cute - if you can find the time.

Oh! 'Hi" is fine!

Have a great year!

Oh, I will find the time, just need to get some of the pounds and pounds of fluff accounted for first! And so, "HI!" ;)

Happy New Year!

Congratulations on the exercise (and yes, housework does count as movement and is good for you) and the big kitchen cleanout!

It's quite all right to continue a goal. In fact, the only way things get finished is if we continue to do them.;)

Enjoy knitting a new avatar, and on my blog, anything counts as a great comment, even just the i-haven't-fallen-off-the-face-of-the-planet variety.

You, too!

The kitchen clean out wasn't exactly PLANNED, mind you, but it is nice now that it's finished... And yes, I try to stay earth-bound as much as possible!

Three miles a day will inspire me to do better. I walk for an hour every day, but my speed is not up to par, so I have to work on that. I love that you will be writing a book. I'm going to work on my writing this year too, but not with a book in mind. I so wish computers had been available when I was younger. I have met so many blogger friends who write that I know I would have done much more of it too. Remind me to refer you to a few blogger friends of mine who can be helpful to you once you get going. All the best for the new year.
