The Early Bee.

"Mom, what are we gonna do today, I am bored..."

I know, let's go PLAY! Wanna play?  I do, and then have TREATS.  Mom?  Stop sticking the camera in my face... Let's play...

(Bzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz)  Mom, you sound funny!  Whatcha makin' that noise for?  Can I bzzzzz too?  Is that what you are playing?

(Bzzz, silly dog, it's not HER bzzing...)

(Oh, great, a camera, and I am bzzzy here... Shoot.  Or, wait! Don't shoot, go away...)

(If I let you take my picture will you PLEASE go away?  I mean really, lady, it's February, I have a schedule, the honey isn't gonna make itself...  Is this my good side?)

(Ciao!)  Mom, come out of the garden, I wanna PLAAAAY!
MOM!!!

(For anyone that is interested, the flower is a Christmas Rose Hellebore, and yes, I took the pictures TODAY.  I was rather surprised by the flower, and VERY surprised by the bee.  Not surprised at all with my furry pal, however...)  :)

What a fun post! I planted a Hellebore a few years ago. They are supposed to bloom in February - so I guess yours is on target. Last year mine was under a snowdrift until April.... but it did bloom then!
How amazing that the bees were out!

I had this in my garden for about 2 years now, it didn't bloom, as far as I know, last year. It made up for it this year! And yes, the bee surprised me!

Wow great shots I would be surprised by the bee and the flower too this time of year. Love the furry pal. B

The flower is supposed to bloom more or less this time of year, so not a big surprise. The bee, however, was. They usually don't start showing until mid-March(ish). And yeah, Rudee is quite the character...
