F. Free Fallin'

F

To show that, while I have lovely chickens, they do not fly worth a darn.  This is one of the first times I have tried to use the movie option on my camera.  I didn't know what to do about it being so dark, sorry.

This is normal for most mornings, it has become even more of a troop landing strip with the golden girls.  I have more than once opened the door, and had a chicken crash into me.  So, now I walk behind the door, and when it opens, they have the whole doorway to aim for. MOST of the time, that's enough.

We want to have chickens when we move (not legal where we live) Looks like I'll be up for more excitement than i was expecting:D

LOL Watching the girls trying to get the courage to fly/leap certainly shows how the word 'chicken' came into being, meaning 'afraid to do something'!

We've domesticated the flight out of them, and i can't imagine being crashed into by a chicken. Ouch!

Chickens aren't very graceful in the air, are they?

Well, just when they are wanting out... And food.

They seem to have that down. Panic stricken is a regular occurrence...

Yes, flying with the big chest is nearly not a possibility. (It's worse with some breeds, and darn near impossible for turkeys.) Actually, the crashing doesn't hurt, they are big, but not heavy, even the rooster isn't much more than a few pounds. In fact, if someone would throw a feather pillow with a paperback in the center, about that tough.

It's the mess when they hit. Chickens are not fastidious sometimes, and bowel control... Eew.

Cat, with probably TMI

For feathered folk... Feh. For film? Fortuitous.

Right before breakfast they complain quite a bit. They aren't quite as vocal after, but still talkative. I like it, though.
