O. Our House.

O

(Apologies to Crosby, Stills and Nash...)

Our house is a very fine house,
With (at least) two pets in the yard,
Seed starting used to be so hard,
Now it will be easy, because of you...

Husband decided that I needed a more permanent greenhouse, and so we purchased one recently. It was a kit built kind.  Husband decided that he would build it, which was good and bad.

Good because I knew, once it was finished, it would be level, and probably able to withstand gale force winds...

Bad because he about wrecked his knees trying to find a level spot on the concrete, then putting the wood down and securing it.  But all is well, as you can see. The old green house is now working as racks in the new green house, so we are reusing, too!

Greenhouse, X-ray version.

Rudee was moved, so he has a better view of the front.
And we have a better alarm system...

Each one of the panels had to have two plastic film sheets removed.
I ended up taking a bag and a half of plastic to recycling!

Husband checking EACH panel for square.
This is part of the reason we don't wrap Christmas presents together.
Let's just say, bubble off plumb isn't just my mental state.

Taaaa Daaaa!  And soon, when we quit having
freezing mornings, I will get garden-y plants going.
(I haven't conned convinced Husband to heat it. Yet.)

Now, bring in the real spring weather!

It looks great! My dad is a precision kind of guy as well. The final product is great, but the destination was often a challenge. Enjoy!

Our backyard, is a very, very bare back yard
It needs a nice greenhouse
If i didn't garden like a louse,
It would be great if i could copy you...

With my own apologies to the original authors, too.

Will you be growing plants, vegetables or both?

That looks like a ton of work, but it'll be worth it if you grow vegetables and other produce. What are you growing?

How great! My dad built one of those kit greenhouses and loves his. I wish I had the time to do hardcore gardening. Someday... Have fun!

Yes, it is wonderful (mostly) during the day, but we are STILL having frost in the mornings, so I second the motion!

I grow mostly veggies, but I have some flowers floundering about trying to do something. I will probably get some herbs started to, if I get with the program of how to use them, and not just end up with deer chow...

I always grow tomatoes, so many folks like them, I grow kohlrabi for a neighbor, carrots, and beans. Then it's whatever strikes my fancy and I have space for after that.

Oh, if all else fails, you could always put a plant on the back steps or something... I am just lucky enough to enjoy it and have the time...
