Shades 'o Hogwarts, resolutions...

The fog finally cleared up around here for a little bit, and it became extremely cold.  We had a fire, and I fell asleep.  I woke to this evil little face looking at me.  Being it was dark (fell asleep, and had no lights on), it was rather... spooky looking.  But for all those wizards and witches, no, it didn't talk to me, just glared for a while.

So, goals.
#1. Not a thing done so far.  Guess that needs to be worked on.  But I have to stay home to work on it!
#2 See?  Finished not one, but 2 pair of socks that were sitting by the couch.  The little one is getting there, if I hold my mouth JUST right, there MIGHT be enough yarn for the other sock.  Otherwise, I will be doing some digging in the stash, or frogging to make the cuffs shorter, (which will put it in the "whenever I get back to it" pile, I have other items I am working on first!), but they sure look cute for some smallish kid! I wanted to try kid socks, but with a pattern similar to the adult socks I make.  I like the toe on the kid socks better than the one I normally use, I will have to try it on my 'big kid' socks!  I am also knitting on a baby afghan, but there isn't much more than a scarf's worth. Pics when further along.

#3 Well, I managed to get this blog up, so I would say it's a start... :)

I will try and get some photos in the blog of the animals, everyone in the fur and feathers part of the family seems to be doing fine.  And my one poor hen that had a late molt (perfect timing, it was so frozen, and she had those ugly pinfeathery sticker looking things.  She looked miserable!) is looking pretty good now.  About the only bad thing, the neighbor has put ONE sheep next field over.  He put it with a calf, but the calf and sheep have no interest in each other, and the sheep is nearly climbing the fence to get to people or the llamas.  This is freaking out my one llama to no end, who is continually giving alarm calls by the hour, (listen here, not mine, but sounds like her) , and trotting back and forth to try and get over to her.  I am really considering asking the neighbor to put the sheep in with our llamas so everyone will calm down (and SHUT UP...) You know the sheep is desperate when it wants to come over and be with the DOG...

I was woken up by a herd of alarmed llamas in Cornwall once, and they were running everywhere - even climbing up high walls. I thought it was a mass-murder taking place.

May be you can give your neighbors a message or a note saying that the sheep wants to be friends with the Lama. So let them be. This is sooo cute!!

Poor sheep, it must love company. It's good to hear all is well, and see your beautiful knitting!

The coals are definitely glowering at you.
Cute socks!
That poor sheep, so lonesome. Why would he do that?

I do hope you have enough yarn to make another sock. That single one is my favorite in the bunch.

I love those socks. Very adorable. I can't imagine knitting that well. Even when I did knit, my projects didn't look that nice.

I would most definitely ask the neighbor to let the sheep come over. Why put up with that when there is such an easy solution. A sad, desperate sheep is just wrong.

Do sheep naturally take to llamas? Because they are protective or why? Our neighbors just got two llamas and will get sheep. Other neighbors and the donkey rescue that used to be next door used llamas to protect their goats. It's sad when people don't get companions of their own kinds for herd animals, but it would be good if your neighbor would move the sheep.

Yes, they can sound like Hades itself has opened up, if they go into a panic mode. Fortune would have it, that's pretty rare.

As of a day or so ago, the neighbor put cattle in with the sheep, it seems happier now, so I guess it doesn't need to come visit the tall cousins across the street... :)

It was hand raised, from what I gather, and is a flock animal. This doesn't make for a good self oriented animal... : /
And thank you!

Grr. Heh.
Thanks!
He has a very... vigorous ram in the other field, and wanted them separated, but had no other sheep to put with it.

Thanks! I suppose I just knit all the time, so I am bound to get better at it, right? More consistent, at any rate.

And the sheep seems okay with numerous cows, so all is well...

Sheep and llamas do tend to get along, after introductions. Llamas tend to protect sheep and goats, (sort of a "take care of the dumb cousin" thing), so they will stay with them to make sure they are okay.

Urk! Polar vortex sounds just not good. It needs to stay at the North Pole where it belongs!!! And thank you!
