Catbird?

I was at the store with Mom, and we were talking to a checker, that has recently adopted a kitten.  She was describing the antics the kitten was up to, and said, "oh, and we just figured out she has a "thumb" on each front paw."

I piped up and said, "Oh, she's a Pterodactyl!"  Everyone, including me, started cracking up.  I made a joke about when she was going to start flying, and if she had started roaring yet.

So, just to make it clear, the cats that have extra toes, and were around Ernest Hemingway's houses, are POLYDACTYLS.  The bird like creature that hangs out screeching, with Fred Flintstone, is a Pterodactlyl...

At least I made everyone laugh.

Oh, and the kitten has now been dubbed Mittens...

That is funny! I am sort of surprised that everyone in the group understood the Polydactyl reference. You have pretty bright people shopping at that store or a lot of Hemingway enthusiasts.

Heeheehee! Yep, i've flubbed up a word or two (or dozens) in my day, and it is good for a laugh. After all, if you can't laugh, you are about done in.
