I vacuumed, dusted, realized the spiders were trying to take over the bathroom again.

So I cleaned cobwebs. Then I swept tumbleweeds of fur and hair that had been hidden behind the bathroom door, that I missed. It's amazing how much cast off hair the three of us can leave! Icky!

Washed clothes, after some body and fender on the washer. The filters had become full of fine grit, and it wouldn't run correctly. All better now.

Fed and gathered eggs. I find it strange, I have offered eggs to neighbors, and to a person, oh, no. Don't eat eggs. Don't like brown eggs.(?) The answers vary, but all lead off with no. You'd think, right before Easter, and several neighbors who have kids... And I offer them freely, no charge.

Maybe that's what I am doing wrong. I need to say they are boutique eggs at $20 a dozen! Pbbbbbt.

Meh, I have eggs for Easter... And a clean house, pretty much.

Maybe some potato salad. And some pound cake. Who knows... But it will be egg-celent!

Hee! ;)
Cathttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16085463730809297977noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-30891954.post-59459060528754921232024-03-27T07:00:00.000-07:002024-03-27T07:00:00.241-07:00Irritated, and amused.
On the irritated part, I have had trouble commenting on other folks blogs. I checked the directions, and it says, log in. Cool. I log in.

And one of two things happen, either I go back to MY blog, which doesn't allow me to write on someone else's blog... Or it says I have an ad blocker. Which I do not.

So, for any and all leaving comments, I am struggling to say hi, at least. I will continue to attempt to convince Blogger that I am a real person... Siiiiiigh...

On the amused part, I sent a text to a friend today -

Things I never thought I would say, "Ding, stop licking the lava lamp!"

I haven't the foggiest why she does. I understand her wanting to sit near it, it's warm, so that tracks. But licking? I am clueless.

Temped to write the lava lamp folks and see if they have any idea. I looked online, and the only thing I can find is warnings to not let your cat lick broken lamps. Gee, what could go wrong???!?

But, mine's intact. It's just like a bottle. She's licking the side of a perfectly intact, bubbling lava lamp.

I be stumped. Cats is crazy.

Cathttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16085463730809297977noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-30891954.post-66699006488881024602024-03-26T07:00:00.000-07:002024-03-26T07:00:00.172-07:00Eclipse.
Didn't get a blog up... Late getting started, and by the time I remembered... Er, it's the time I write the blog for the next day. Meh. Can't win em all.

There was a lunar eclipse. I saw it.

Sort of.

I was up about when it started, for annoying nocturnal reasons. I checked out the window, and it was cloudy. But very bright outside. I went back to bed, and Ding curled up next to me, pushing against my hand until I covered her. She snuggled down, started her soft little snorting snore. Husband was grumbling, until I realized Ding was pin cushioning him with her back claws. A little adjustment, and all was well. I watched the shadows on the back wall fade. Didn't realize how dark it became, until a car drove by, and the lights through the window were brilliant. Then it went nearly black.

I stroked Ding on her head, and a bit on her shoulder. She was invisible. A grey color cat doesn't show up well in the dark. But- soon the moon came out to play again, and light slowly filled the room. Ding decided a snack break was vital, and jumped down. I snuggled up and dozed off. So, it wasn't exactly astrophysics norm...

But, it was nice.
Cathttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16085463730809297977noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-30891954.post-17874519624460880642024-03-24T07:00:00.000-07:002024-03-24T07:00:00.257-07:00Forward, giggle!!
Got up and I was super sore. Randomly happens...

But I decided to take a couple Aleve, and see if I could knock the ow down a bit. I didn't exercise when I got up, because of it. So, looking outside, it was gloomy, but not raining, after breakfast.

Finished a couple things, and decided I was going to exercise by walking outside. I put on my danger orange vest I wear when walking, let Husband know I was headed out, and put music on my phone to try and get motivated.

The stuff I normally listen to wasn't doing it. (Note: can't remember if I have said, but I have decided to run a 5K. Not soon, I am still in the wobbly 30 seconds and I am panting point, but I *am* able to run, if only for a tiny bit so far. And the ankle didn't mind!!!)

I was still pretty sore, but wanted something more than a casual walk. Hmm. Sooo... Marching?

I looked up marches and there were several, I chose the first one that came up, military marches. That was good, I was able to do a decent pace, mostly. I heard several marches representing the various Armed Forces. Soon it drifted to marches that were probably military, but I'm not sure, some seemed more like swing. But it kept my pace up, so fine.

Then... The Colonel Bogey March came on. Oddly, I never knew this was a March.

I know it as Comet:

Comet - it makes your lips turn green!

Comet - it tastes like Listerine-

Comet - it makes you vomit;

So get some Comet, and vomit, today!

Whereupon I had just enough breath to sing with the music. I am so frightfully glad none of the neighbors were out to hear me! But it did make walking home a giggle, and I serenaded Husband when I got home.

He was happy I felt better, but made no comment on vocals or music choice...
Cathttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16085463730809297977noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-30891954.post-53381248279420231072024-03-23T07:00:00.000-07:002024-03-23T07:00:00.134-07:00Ten, nine, eight....
Linky bits

1. I saw a video where a gent trained his cat to play a little piano. Bach? I think? But it was neat to watch. I sort of think the gent might have a little too much time on his hands, but you know, it was worth it.

Nope, it was Mozart.

2. The neighbor had the cows in the field close to us, and there were several that were trotting around happily. It is nice to watch.

3. We are getting all sorts of birds, fortunately, none of the "bully" birds yet, so that makes it even better.

4. I have started a shawl for a friend who lives in a desert area, so it gets way hot in the day, and very cold at night, (except in summer, all bets are off, then), and a scarf. I will also be making a shawl for my Mom. Nice to make things for people that want them.

5. My lava lamp. I have had several comments, good and... Less so, about it, but I find it relaxing to watch, and except for confusing hummingbirds occasionally, it doesn't bother anyone.

6. Ding has figured out that grooming my blanket is not a good thing, she will not get to sit on my lap. She's also found that it's very warm and snuggly, so if I get up, I cover her, and she just snuggles down happily.

7. One of my friends had a new cat. I was very surprised, as one of the household is allergic, and the youngest has wanted one for years. Well, the allergic one has decided to take shots, so the youngest can have her kitty. And who has the kitty fallen in love with??? Yeah, the allergic one. But kitty is fond of kid, too, so it works out.

8. Husband and I had several things to do, and made a morning of it, tag team. I went to the store to get items for parents, he went to store for bulbs I need for the lava lamp, etc. It was nice, we were able to get things done relatively quickly, except for someone dallying around the garden center... Cough.

Had a nice, if messy lunch. It was just a nice day.

9. Mom and Dad are both going to doctors and medical folk for self care. I am thankful that they are taking care of themselves, and that they can! They both seem to be doing well...

10. I am thankful for Messimimi writing this thankful list on her blog, triggering me to start on my blog. I am enjoying thinking about my blessings.

Until next week, thank you!

Cathttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16085463730809297977noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-30891954.post-22921847014883433142024-03-22T07:00:00.000-07:002024-03-22T07:00:00.138-07:00Finally... And lunch.
Mom needed some photos taken, she doesn't have a smart phone, I do. (Can I say smart is relative? It takes pictures, that's what she needed.)

So, we went to her appointment, and since it was close by, I took ONE LAST CHANCE to give the hats to the volunteer coordinator.

See any pigs gliding about overhead? She was in, she wanted them, and she remembered my name. So I delivered 4 hats. (That I forgot to take a picture of... Sigh...)

So, as I feel like it, I'll knit up some more, sometime. But I am working on 2 knitting projects, scarf and shawl, and still tinkering with the blanket. And my socks, which are a take along. They keep me from being fidgety or bored when I am in line or waiting. So I have plenty to do right now.

After, my folks invited me to lunch. Nice food, but way too much for me. I took half of it home.

Husband was out visiting, and when he came back, I told him there was my leftovers from lunch. He made a beeline for it, and that was his dinner. Lovely when it works out like that! I didn't want dinner, he had a nice dinner, and I didn't need to make dinner! Yaaay!!!
Cathttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16085463730809297977noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-30891954.post-6918490084237243502024-03-21T07:00:00.000-07:002024-03-21T07:00:00.138-07:00Stuff and things.
Well, I'm into Don Quixote, not bad so far, with the exception... I think I have found the publication with the worlds smallest type. Dang. I have to read it in good light! Eep! I noticed it must be a student copy, too, there's several underlined passages, and comments in the back of the book, as if someone took notes during a class. But, so far, so good.

I think I will have a correction for the blanket I am working on. It will make it very distinct, but I should still be able to make the edging, so it will be both warm, and colorful.

Husband and I are doing tag team for family. I'll be with my Mom one day, he'll be off helping his Dad with shopping the next. It works, I get time to clean house, he gets time when I'm gone to take his hearing aid out, and go putter, or read.

Or sleep.

I'd never do that, though. Cough... I just notice that Ding jumps in my lap, and somehow it's a hour or two later! Strange.

I now have 3 items, two shawls and a scarf, that are the next projects. Family and friend requests. I started on one shawl, having made one already, it's a bit easier...

That's it for now.
Cathttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16085463730809297977noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-30891954.post-14038184156679420452024-03-20T08:06:00.000-07:002024-03-20T08:06:32.448-07:00Morning Quiet.
Sitting in my living room. I don't have any radios or the TV on. Nothing making that kind of noise. (Unless you count the refrigerator running.)

But it's not silent. The Towhees are digging for the "good stuff" in the feeders, tossing the other seed out. Makes the window rattle like tiny hail.

On the ground, I hear a few ground feeders chittering and squeaking, battling for seed domination!

The heater started... Our nice days are in the rear view mirror for the moment. No freezing predicted, but 40's or less wouldn't surprise me. Rain...

Clinking from Ding inspecting her food bowl. She ate some, so I guess she approves.

This time...

Cawing. Rooster crowing. One random moo. All the animals are up and around for another day.

Even the tiny finches are making themselves known, landing with a metallic thump on the metal cross beam holding the feeders, like some kind of micro superhero. (And I saw the little one legged finch yesterday, too!)

Morning traffic is light, so just the occasional buzz of an engine.

The ticking of the clocks.

Listening to the quiet can sure be noisy!!!
Cathttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16085463730809297977noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-30891954.post-10986162270017759652024-03-19T16:08:00.000-07:002024-03-19T16:08:09.011-07:00Happy Spring!
Got a slow start today, but...

Cathttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16085463730809297977noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-30891954.post-9630647542165280262024-03-18T08:11:00.000-07:002024-03-18T08:11:16.765-07:00Inky-dinky-eewww!
I decided to spend a little time out in my pod, and catch up on some writing. I have materials out there, so I just wandered out and pulled them from the mini cupboard.

I took out the paper, and my "pencil box", which has many different writing implements. I took out some pencils, but decided I would use a pen. Took out the pen, and uncapped it. It proceeded to barf all over my hands. I managed to keep it from getting on the paper, table, or floor. However, my hands were blackened with ink. I washed my hands, and it got the worst of it off. I picked out another pen, and splutch, again I am inked. So, I asked if Husband had any potions for ink remover.

Acetone works quite well, with elbow grease. This morning I can't see any ink except a tiny, tiny bit that got under a thumb nail. However, I have to put ointment on my poor hands, they are desert dry.

So... I will have to go out to the pod, take a roll of paper towels and check all my ink pens for damage. All I can figure is that it was way cold in the ice storm, and perhaps the ink froze and broke my pens. Fortunately, they were in a plastic bag in the pen box, so it wouldn't have damaged much past that, anyway.

But, I now have very clean hands after chem cleaning, soap and water cleaning several times, and...

I never did end up doing any writing!

These were after two soap & water washings. :/

Cathttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16085463730809297977noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-30891954.post-26212246644694351192024-03-17T07:23:00.000-07:002024-03-17T07:23:26.062-07:00Happy St. Patrick's Day!

(Kilroy was here!!)

Cathttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16085463730809297977noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-30891954.post-64936669669801179242024-03-16T08:11:00.000-07:002024-03-16T08:11:19.693-07:00Thankfully...
Linky bits

1.

I am happy we have snow. UP THERE! Knowing how the weather has been in other parts of the country, this is good.

2. Also, thankful for that view.

3. Thankful for the nice weather we've been having, I have been able to test my legs. Husband has been able to get some outside work finished, and can help a friend with some of his projects... (Big machine good! Move much dirt!!)

4. Yarn. Always thankful for that. ๐งถ :)

5. I'm happy to be having a late St. Patrick's Day dinner at Mom and Dad's. Husband gets ill at the smell of vinegar, and isn't wild about corned beef and cabbage. So I will figure out something nice, and still have my "goodies".

6. A couple nice new skirts I have. I wore one yesterday, it was a bit tinkery to put on, as I am not used to wrapping a skirt, but it looks nice.

7. Husband was able to mow the yard while I was out. After winter, our lawn looks pretty iffy. He evened it up, and even took a run through the garden area, so I don't need hip waders to get to things! ;)

8. Radio shows and podcasts. I have some that I am listening to pretty regularly, but I don't have to have a set time to do so. It's also nice when I'm crafting, as I don't need to look up from what I'm doing.

9. Getting more birds in the area. The sky is filled with birdsong... Even if Husband thought I had hiccups last night, because one bird sits in the bush by our door and chirps one quick note- that sounds very much like "hic"!

10. Thankful that I made it through 10 of these! It's nice to sit down and think of the good things in your life.
Cathttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16085463730809297977noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-30891954.post-8827020299082129142024-03-15T09:58:00.000-07:002024-03-15T09:58:47.920-07:00Late, but yay me! So, I am thinking of a way or two to remedy that. It's a blanket, not a paid project, so I can play with it a bit. Thankfully, I didn't start this in December!

Slow day. I got up to watch my mystery show (wish they didn't come on QUITE so early), and was going to do a few things. I washed the dishes, then sat down. Ding jumped in my lap...

And I woke up much later. Oh, well.

I started dinner, and then worked on a chemo cap I wanted to finish, so I have a fair amount to show the Volunteer Coordinator person.

So it wasn't a roaringly busy day, but, I did do something. Oh, and I started Don Quixote. Yay!

Cathttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16085463730809297977noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-30891954.post-72120624566199161752024-03-12T07:00:00.000-07:002024-03-12T07:00:00.253-07:00 Old book, new book...
Read the one, the other, need to take a look.

So the Doctor Who book was good. I think it's meant to be more of a young adult type book. But it was an entertaining read. It was with the 4th Doctor, and his companion Leela. They have to rescue Earth from a time implosion. There are creatures that ended up on Earth 12 million years ago, and basically were trying to get humans to the technology level they needed to start taking over. And one man finally did...

I will give it a Good. A little light, but a fun read.

In other news, I am almost finished with the center of the blanket, then work on the edging. Which will be quite a bit on its own.

I will see how much I get to work on it, this sounds like it's going to be a busy week...

The next book I chose, because a regional theater is playing Quixote Nuevo... So I decided to read Don Quixote by Cervantes. Hopefully my eyeballs don't fall out, the print in the book I have is miniscule...

Meh. I will see how it goes.

I was going to read a different book, but it turned out to be more of a workbook than a reading type book. I will tell more about it later.
Cathttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16085463730809297977noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-30891954.post-8999074964937215392024-03-11T07:00:00.000-07:002024-03-11T07:00:00.282-07:00Oscar goes to...
Several movies I haven't seen. I don't think I saw any movies last year, the biggies, at any rate. I meant to go see Oppenheimer and Barbie. They, for different reasons, both sounded interesting. I just never got to the movie house. Meh. Hopefully I will see it on DVD or something.

Today was a low key day, slow start, but I did end up exercising, and some things I needed to do finished.

FINALLY started on my Doctor Who book, not bad! Knitted a bit, but not sure the evening holds any great allure, except maybe to finish the book. It's fairly short, so, I most likely will finish it quickly. Then to my next read!
Cathttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16085463730809297977noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-30891954.post-4358316702569309872024-03-10T07:00:00.000-07:002024-03-10T07:00:00.264-07:001 through 7, start again. Repeat.
I crocheted most of the day on the blanket. It's called a cluster stitch. I pull the yarn up seven times, bind the stitch with a single crochet, then go to the next seven. Today that got me through 2 podcasts, a radio show, 3 TV shows (online), and the news.

I decided to stop, mostly because my shoulder decided to remind me that repetitive things are a bit much when you do them several hours straight...

Tomorrow I will need to take a break. Maybe some reading. Knitting. This and that.

But maybe not crochet. Just for a bit.

Oh, and if you need to, and haven't done so, time change happened, one hour ahead!
Cathttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16085463730809297977noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-30891954.post-820147807790315652024-03-09T07:00:00.000-08:002024-03-09T07:00:00.137-08:00Things, ten, to be thankful for.
Linky bits...

1. My chickens are laying. Which is a sign winter is heading to storage for a bit, and that the girls (and the roo, too) are healthy.

2. Ding has finally learned not to groom my fuzzy blanket...

3. And we have changed her food, so she doesn't have "barf breath", which was ANOTHER reason we didn't want her licking things.

4. I found the perfect yarn for a scarf project I wanted to do. I swore I wouldn't start a new project, but I did. Meh. I will alternate between the blanket and the scarf.

5. It's getting nicer weather off and on, even if the nights are frozen.

6. Tea, and cocoa. Just I like them.

7. Getting better at keeping the dishes finished, so I don't have a huge batch to deal with. Cookie pans are a pain , but the rest of the time, it works out pretty well.

8. I have found a lot of interesting videos on YouTube, and have learned quite a bit. I found out they have operas online. I am thinking I might try that at some point. At least if I fall asleep, I won't bother anyone... :/

9. I am thankful I can just be me. I have odd quirks, but my family just rolls with it, most of the time.

9. I am thankful that people accept that I'm not perfect.*

(Gotcha!) :)
Cathttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16085463730809297977noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-30891954.post-32349348723681631572024-03-08T07:00:00.000-08:002024-03-08T07:00:00.303-08:00Feeling fine, if not fast.
I have been working on strengthening my ankle, (and indirectly, my knee), since my surgery. I had proof today that it's working.

Husband and I went shopping. We were walking out of the building, and as usual, he started his long legged gait, and I was getting a bit away from him. This would normally mean one of two things:

An unladylike bellow for him to slow down, which, depending on if he's paying attention, or able to hear me, might slow him, might not.

Or, I just keep plugging along, hoping he will notice I am no longer in close range, and he will slow down.

Today, I decided to see if I could catch up. My ankle is not hurting, so I clutched the cart, and ran. Okay, probably more of a jog, if it was a normal person, but I moved faster, and caught up, and even went slightly ahead of him, to line up the cart with the car trunk.

Yay, me!!!
Cathttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16085463730809297977noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-30891954.post-13101800773127059742024-03-07T07:00:00.000-08:002024-03-07T07:00:00.140-08:00Whoopsie, and homebrew TV table.
I sat down to write this blog, and noticed I hadn't written one yesterday. Totally slipped my mind, I guess. Not a busy day, wasn't stressing... Just spaced. Oh, well.

Sorry...

I have been watching videos on my phone, and wanted to listen to one while in the bath. I found a little x shaped book stand that is wood. Figured the signal would be better that way. Carefully set it on an upside down 5 gallon bucket, and set that on the bath mat, so it wouldn't wiggle around, much.

It looks very low tech. And it is... But, it works. I don't have to worry about anything getting wet, especially with the phone not needing to be IN the tub area. And it's fun to have something different in the evening.

Got some appointments made. Sigh. I thought they had already been made. Turns out, the times I was given, seems to be how long the application was FOR the appointment, not WHEN it was. Glad I checked. So now, I have it on my phone, my paper calendar, and on a piece of paper on the kitchen table! I WILL know when the appointments are!!

Still plugging away at the blanket. It is coming along, I am getting better at the cluster stitch it uses. I should be, after the several hundred I've done! I am alternating with knitting. Switching between the two keeps my fingers from hurting. And, hey, I don't get bored...

;)
Cathttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16085463730809297977noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-30891954.post-79012408651101591442024-03-05T07:00:00.000-08:002024-03-05T07:00:00.143-08:00Book 'o the month, that was quick! The Friday Night Knitting Club by Kate Jacobs.

As a knitter, I homed in on this book at the book sale, then never got around to reading it. I decided that it was very much time to do so.

The main character, Georgia, is a single mom, who owns a knitting shop, and lives right above it. The story heads out explaining how she somewhat granularly starts a knitting group, almost by accident.

It then starts introducing the knitters, (and some others), and gives some back story on how she becomes a single mom, and how she starts the shop.

It goes into the stories of the other women's lives (while there are two men in the story, neither happen to be knitters.) The book goes into relationships of some of the knitters, and the men. Love, lust, betrayal, sadness, forgiveness, happiness, contentment... The whole emotional gambit.

The only tiny, and I do mean tiny, meh I have about it, there are so many characters, at first I was getting confused a bit on who was who. But as the characters changed, and grew, and learned from one another, it really filled out each one, to let them stand and be seen, so to speak.

They come together as a group after a major sad event, and have formed a community of friendship to work with one another, and to go on.

I will give this book... Very good. (It drifts towards being a romance novel, but has enough other things, and doesn't become the dreaded "how to manual", that I actually enjoyed it.)

And the book used drawings of yarn balls for chapter pages, and knitting needles for some paragraph separation. There was a page before each chapter explaining knitting, that relates to the chapter, as well.

Also has a very basic, but cute knitted scarf pattern, and a muffin recipe, related to one of the characters.

So, I decided on a quick read for the next one, a little different.

Doctor Who and the Image of the Fendahl by Terrance Dicks.

Hey, I like variety...

Cathttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16085463730809297977noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-30891954.post-76313631307356639682024-03-04T07:00:00.000-08:002024-03-04T07:00:00.146-08:00??... !... Oh.
Wanted to work on a sock, had not been doing any socks for some time.

Finished the leg, (I work top down), and started working on the heel. On my foot, 32 rows, then turn the heel.

I set it all up, and start. Reduce, reduce, reduce... Why is this going at an angle? I counted the stitches on each side, one had 3 left, the other, 10. Huh. Noooo.

Tink, start again. Reduce, reduce, reduce... What??!?? It happened again. That doesn't make sense.

Tink, start again, slowly watching and counting. Grr. It started AGAIN. What is the problem?

Tink back to the heel, and very carefully count. It is a bumpy, fuzzy yarn, so I had to go over it carefully to get a count...

It is supposed to be even 15, or whatever, on both sides. I checked again...

Yep. 14 on one side, 17 on the other.

Sigh.

After getting the silly thing even, it worked much better...

And I am so far enjoying The Friday Night Knitting Club, with the minor exception that there are quite a few characters, so I have to think which who is that with what is going on. But very good!
Cathttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16085463730809297977noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-30891954.post-30806565849554340562024-03-03T07:00:00.000-08:002024-03-03T07:00:00.141-08:00Quiet day.
Husband had to take his Dad to shop for the week. I stayed home, made some bread. Tidied the kitchen a bit, listened to a podcast, but after I finished it, I kept hearing a high pitched noise. I thought maybe it was a bird.

Turns out, I can still hear mouse squeaks, when they are caught in the trap. Ick.

Anyway, that taken care of, read some more on my book, knit on a sock, made dinner.

Not exactly over the top, but it was a fair to decent day...
Cathttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16085463730809297977noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-30891954.post-43411191516111168032024-03-02T07:00:00.000-08:002024-03-02T07:00:00.131-08:00Thankful thingies, ten thereof...
Ten things of thankful link, or at least as close as I am going to get...

So, I was out shopping, and for some reason I noticed that the clerk was, if not grumpy, just not really looking like he was thrilled with things. So, I just smiled, and commented on a tattoo I liked. He grinned, held up both arms with art, and said "Which one?" I laughed, "all of them, actually, but I was talking about the one on the left." Just that little interaction, and he just seemed to be energized. Actually, so was I.

I still need to do exercises to limber up my ankle. I have set a skein of yarn right in front of me, and while I am doing those repetitive, oh, so repetitive repeats, I daydream about what it will become. Oddly, a scarf is one idea. It is based on the color scheme for the scarf of the forth Doctor Who, so I guess it's dragging my mind to scarf. I will have to design something interesting for it, there's not enough for the original one!

Found my new book for the month, and will probably need to get another. Not because I don't like it... I sat down to read a couple pages to see if I liked it, and proceeded to read a chapter right off!

It snowed, several times in the last 2 days, and is predicted to do more. (Stupid groundhog!) I want the snow to go away... Down here. I am, however, jubilant that the mountains are white and getting MORE white. Good deep snow there is water for summer.

I have most of my seeds for this season. As much as it pains me to wait, I am not buying any starts yet. Having done that, and ending up with a leggy jungle in my craft room, I wait. I am thankful that I can learn. (Now for patience, cough...)

I have been given the go ahead by my ankle doctor to start a new exercise for a goal I was going to start working on before COVID. I will say I am thankful for the healing and strength I am getting now, and that I will be able to start working on it. (watch this space!)

I am thankful for little things, too. Hair ties. I really prefer not filtering my face with my hair...

Basics, food wise. Beans. Rice. Apples. Oatmeal. Nothing fancy, but I enjoy them.

Quiet. Just turning everything off, and listening to what's left. Clock ticking. Wind sometimes. Ding, or Husband, or both, snoring. Rain...

And after watching the news, I am thankful I have a house to live in. And ever hopeful that things will improve for others...

Thankfully yours,

Cat
Cathttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16085463730809297977noreply@blogger.com0
