Title might be more interesting than the blog! reverb 30

Slow day.  I was going to get up and go, and didn't.  I did some light knitting.  I did do the basic stuff, fed, and walked (I cheated, tho, I only went six rounds, my knee was hurting today).  I don't know what got into me today, I nearly fell asleep a couple times, so, this blog will probably be zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.

Uh.

So, without further ado, I give you, if I don't fall asleep, reverb 30.

Prompt: Gift. This month, gifts and gift-giving can seem inescapable. What's the most memorable gift, tangible or emotional, you received this year?

(Remember these were given out in December, hence the tone of the question.)

This last year.  Tangible, sounds silly, but it was my jeans from Mom and Dad, it was 'living proof' that I had been taking care of myself.

Also, Husband willing to be a chauffeur to a place he didn't need to go to, to be at a concert he didn't want to go to, and take it all good naturedly.

And since that was way short, let's see, a memorable gift I had...

I remember being a super, super studious student, and found out I needed my wisdom teeth removed.  ALL 4 OF THEM.  I decided that I would have them out over Christmas break, all at once.  There was a little apprehension, but the dentist agreed, and the deed was done.

I seem to remember not feeling anything for about a half hour, then the Novocaine wore off.  Then Mom and Dad gave me (I believe Tylenol with Codeine?) a pain pill.  After that point, I think someone could have covered me with duck feathers, danced a conga on the bed, and landed a small plane by my bedroom, I probably wouldn't have noticed.  This went on for several days...

Christmas rolled around, and the only thing I remember is receiving a gorgeous jade circle necklace.  It was so pretty, I think I remember crying.  The fog commenced its return, and I don't remember much else until a few days later, when I remember Mom experimenting with solid food and the blender.  Lots of the stuff was quite good.  Some, better left undescribed.

But I still remember (and have) that necklace.

I am, however, a little vague on the duck feathers, conga lines, and landing aircraft...

I think today was National Take a Nap Day, or maybe need a nap.... I slept most of the morning, then I slept another 4 hours this afternoon. Seems a lot of people were sleepy today. (Maybe we are all going to hibernate, after all)

My son had all eight (8!) wisdom teeth cut out at the hospital. Good subject for a blog..... He was pretty happy with his meds too!

Oh, what a sweet story about the necklace. How interesting that your gift shines out through the fog above all else.
I recall being incredibly sick a few years ago. Nothing specific - but I felt like my arms and legs hand been strapped to the mattress in some sort of crazy bondage thing. I barely moved for 48 hours. My husband was gung-ho on booking some sort of European trip and kept asking me what I thought. My response was some sort of groan. The outcome was a fabulous river cruise on the Danube. Now, that's a great gift!!

Sunday afternoon attendance at Bedside Baptist should be mandatory everywhere, as it is at my house.;) Keeps the rest of the week in perspective.

Beautiful story of gifts, all 3 of them. Glad you don't remember much about the bad parts of the tooth stuff.

My Aunt had her 4 wisdom teeth out at once, and went dancing that night. Started bleeding, of course. Took days to recover. My dad was allowed a Friday afternoon off during his residency at the hospital to have his 4 wisdom teeth out and have his tonsils removed. He was to report back to the hospital Monday morning. They found him passed out on the ward floor, and sent his home -- until Tuesday afternoon.
