One of those non-motivated weeks.

It has been foggy.  Like, I can't see the tree in the front yard foggy.  Mom came up with "50 Days of Gray" to describe it.  I think it's been closer to a week, but I must say it's been depressing. Yuck, to put it mildly.  And it's been at freezing. Or just below.

I have actually kept up with my exercise, but found out graphically one of my problems.  I walked on the road, after about 2-3 weeks of walking on my (gravel and lawn) driveway.  ONE DAY on the road, and I am in pain again.  So, I will go back to driveway walking.  It still works, even if I really don't like walking, AT ALL, in this weather.

I hope to write some on my book today, or I will not have written all week.  Unless you count opening it up, reading a couple of my recent pages, and writing a note or two on why it needs re-written.  Not exactly emptying the ink in my pen.

On the bright side, I went to a restaurant that I have frequented, that I've not gone to in a while.  One of the waitresses is a total love, and usually greets me with a big hello and chat.  I came in and she walked right by...

Huh?

I started to walk to the table, when she turned and gave me a curious look.  "HOW ARE YOU?!!?  You are so much smaller!  I didn't recognize you right off!" Then she gave me a big hug.  I had not seen her since the great Leg Break of Thanksgiving, so I caught her up, and Husband, pleased, told her of my 3 mile a day walking regimen.  It was nice to see her, and nice that I am losing enough that someone can notice!

Now, if I can just get some sleep, the fog (both mental and meteorological) would lift some, and I wasn't so inclined to be lazy when I am awake, things would go.  One of the deputies suggested a six-pack of Red Bull...

Um.  Go, not blast off... ; )

Now that is a GREAT compliment! The sort of thing that gives a boost that lasts for days.

Gray days shut me down, especially when they are cold, so you have my sympathy.

Good for you on the walking! One weight loss physician experimented on the patient she knew best, herself. She always had a weight problem and wanted to help others with the same fight she had. One year, she did not diet at all, just walked for 40 minutes, four times a week.

She did not lose any weight that year. She also, for the first time in her life, did not gain and have to fight it with dieting. Her hips trimmed, she felt better, her skin glowed, her clothes fit better.

The fact is, you are doing the best thing for your health with walking and watching what you eat. Keep up the great work, you will find it makes more and more of a difference as time goes by, even though the changes are so small you don't register them at the time.
