999 miles, and clean water.

I was going to have a quiet day, figured I'd read, maybe type some letters, an email or two... Nothing much planned.

Husband decided that we hadn't gone for a drive for a while, how about that, instead?

Sure! Tidied up, brushed my hair, nice shirt, and off we went.

We drove this route seasonally, to see the changes in the plants, what's blooming, and so on. It is still winter, with hints of spring.

We saw cherry blossoms, possibly dogwood blossoms, too. But most of the plants were still in the "sleeping" stage, either leaflessly bald, or just not much to see...

But, winter has its show too, and the barren trees let us see further back into the woods, and the pines and ceaders were well and whole. We even ended up seeing snow, and fairly deep, too. That was the turn around point... But it was nearly at the top of the area we were driving, so spring might be up there, sooner or later.

We went past the local dam, and a very controversial flush had been performed, leaving the water the color of hot chocolate.  It seemed to last forever, but the rains and snow melt seemed to have cleaned it out to the emerald green we are used to.  It was nice to see.

Husband's car is one of those involved with potential battery problems. However, his was a late enough model, they did some computer stuff, and we had to have the charge reduced, (read: we can't have a full charge, so we can't go as far), but we are down to the last 1000 miles of things limiting. Husband put the trip meter on, and we both got a bit goofy. We started singing "999 miles on the screen"... It is a safety measure, but I think Husband will be happy to have the full range of his car back.

Then maybe another song? "Happy days are here again"?

It's nice to go for a drive every now and then. Over here it's been very cold and rainy for that. We're still waiting for Spring. Maybe tomorrow!

God bless.

Some days a drive is just the ticket, I'm glad you got such a nice one.

Yes, having even the potential of car trouble makes me think about happy days being here when it's over.
