2. I am working on a few Christmas crafts. I know a lot of people don't like hearing X days to Christmas, but I like a general idea, so I am not frantic and panicked trying to finish a gift 2 days before it's due.
3. I'm not going to admit who is teaching whom, but I let Ding Kitty drink from the faucet. After many false starts, I have taught her that "that's enough" means I am going to turn off the faucet. She backs up, and doesn't get a face full when I need a cup of water, or sit there waiting when it isn't running.
4. Managed to get several packages of dried tomatoes to a friend of mine. Sending ripe tomatoes interstate just won't work. But drying them and vacuum sealing, bingo, they get toms to use in recipes.
5. I wanted to use smaller jars for some terrariums, but couldn't fit my hands in. Then discovered, I can use chopsticks. I am fairly proficient with them, and they can dig into soil and move plants without damage. Dedicated chopsticks, though, don't think I need my nutrients from potting soil!
6. Finished several hats, washed and ready to take to my uncle. I made several sizes, so hopefully he can use one or two, the rest can be donated.
7. Fall is coming along to the area, and I get different colors out of the front window. From dark greens and a few lighter ones, to browns and reds starting to peek through. Soon I will be raking up mulch for my garden!
8. With fall coming, I am very happy we have lots of blankets. It went from rather warm, almost uncomfortable to sleep, to this morning, I stepped outside, and saw my breath steam. Yep, time for winter blankets!
9. I am reading Kidnapped, by Robert Louis Stevenson. It's been very good. Oddly, I had heard the title, but didn't know anything about it. I'm enjoying it so far, and eager to see what happens!
10. The deer, turkeys, bunny, squirrels, and birds have pretty much left my garden alone, after Husband put up all the fencing. So I have many packages of tomatoes to donate to the local Tomatofest. Not all of them, but enough that I feel it will be a good addition.
Keep being thankful, and have yourself an awesome week!
A tomatofest sounds delightful and thank you for the reminder about the number of days until Christmas. It's time for me to start addressing a card a day.
ReplyDeleteYou remind me that I haven't used my dehydrator for a long time and vacuum packing afterwards - what a great idea!
ReplyDeleteI used to make Terrariums as a teenager - I used old-fashioned sweet jars on their sides. I always wanted to get an acid carboy which would certainly require some very long chopsticks lol
Have a good week...
lol for Grat #5 ("...dedicated chopsticks")
ReplyDeletethanks for the reminder/encouragement on the exercise front... so easy to not do... but I do have to re-commit to daily regime
have a good week
We had a cat that was throughly entertained by a dripping faucet. It was our way of keeping her occupied so she wouldn't notice we had the door open while unloading groceries, or whatever. The only downside is that her thing was putting her paw under the faucet to catch drips then shaking it mightily, getting water splashes all over the bath or kitchen. Small price to pay for some entertainment for her!
