Getting colder thankfuls (picture heavy)

 1.

It's getting colder here, and someone who shall remain nameless, reminds me that she prefers my warm fake fur blanket on my legs, and she ON the blanket.

Get cracking!!!

2.

I try to change my knitting bag from time to time, this is my latest one. (The item sticking out is a sock lock, it keeps my project from coming undone, and my double pointed needles from wandering away. It is not a tender timer!!! Hee!) I have had lots of giggles, kids absolutely love it! One adult amazed me, however, she nearly was nose to bag with it, finally said, "Oh! That's not a real turkey!

...

Um. Nooo. Ew. By the way, this is actually a hat, Heaven only knows how she would have reacted if I'd been wearing it on my HEAD!

3.

This is one of two long garlands I am doing for my Christmas tree, I have a large one, and a smaller tree I have had since college. I unwound it a little to show the design, but it actually spirals, which I think looks nice. Technically, it's supposed to be blocked, but I like it as is.

4.

Liking the way the other turned out, I made up one with larger bead lines, and multi color thread for the smaller tree.

5.

This is next in the queue. I made the blocks when I was very, very first starting to crochet. I have since mislaid the pattern, but I am going to just make a blanket and pillow with what I have.

This will be a highly, hugely creative endeavor... I was still learning, and between various tensions, not quite understanding all the directions, and hey, why does it matter if I am a few stitches off?

I have since improved a LOT, and so I hope to be able to overcome younger, dumber me.

6.

With the weather getting cold, and wet, I dug out a pair of my work gloves. The base is synthetic yarn, but I had oodles of near lace weight yarn I had spun. What to do with it? I decided to make these gloves, and they turned out to be wonderful for wet weather. They tend to turn water, and the wool and natural fibers keep the warm in.

7.

These are everyday gloves I wear. I actually have several, besides these. I have them for different outfits and moods. Oh, and yes, they are fingertip gloves. I have a much easier time hanging on to things if I have my fingertips free. Later found out it's good if I have to use my cellphone.

8.

Husband put a new roof on my chicken house. The one side is under trees and doesn't get sun. The roof was starting to turn to mush. (!!) He had leftover tin from another job, so my chickens now have a snazzy long lasting tin roof!

9.

I wish the color was a bit better on this. It's more reds and purples than this shows. Anywho, I spun and knit up this set. I love how soft and warm it is. It also reminds me of my great Grandma. She would make rag rugs, and I remember the one in her front room having colors like this. She was also a wool nut like me, so that's neat, too!

10. I have a new pen friend, from India. I hope to get some others, too. I love to exchange letters, so I am quite pleased. I might also have one from Macedonia. See where else in the world I "go to"!

Have yourself a thankful week! Enjoy!

( Turns out last weeks malfunction was me putting the wrong weeks link in. Sorry for the boo boo...)
