1. Mom had her surgery finally, and she is hopefully on the upswing.
2. I am getting the hang of dealing with two households. It is challenging, but notes and asking questions to parents seems to work. Mostly.
3. Schedule for doing things has settled a bit. Again, lots of notes for myself, and a calendar helps.
4. The nurses at both hospitals she's been at could not have been nicer. Especially when I am standing, probably looking shell shocked, trying to figure out what, who, and how...
5. Glad my husband loaned me a car with good mileage, I am on the road every day for a while.
6. I am so thankful for several friends checking in on me, some in person, some via text, but they care, even a friend from India.
7. With all the extra walking and doing things for Dad, I have lost some weight. 'Cuz it sure ain't because I'm eating differently!
8. I have taken time with Dad, just to talk and such. Not the way I would have chosen, but it is time that we can do stuff together.
9. Ding is (mostly) very friendly when I get home, I think she misses me when I am on the go so much.
10. Husband has been a trooper, dealing with my being on the go, several phone calls a day, notes and paper about, occasionally making dinner, because I nod off after sitting down...
So, enjoy your week, and be thankful!

ReplyDeleteI hope each day brings improvement for your mom and that routines get easier for you. Perhaps you need more erroneous weather reports!
