Fall is here.

We have passed both the meteorological, and astronomical Autumn markers.  The rains are starting to set in.  Leaves are just starting to change a bit.  I have actually been cold enough to wear a jacket or over shirt in the mornings.

The chickens are going through a light molt, getting ready for winter, and Buzz looks like she had exploded for a while, since she is getting her winter coat.  Now she looks big and silky.  I don't know what the difference is in her fur, but in the summer, she looks slick, almost otter fur, and in the winter, she looks like a small version of  a Queen's guard's bearskin.  But stripey.

The garden is going away, and I am planning what to do to finish it up and get it ready for winter.  Covering the beds, getting any last veggies, trying to send an eviction notice to that rodent... Yeah, it's still around.

Then there is planning for the seasons ahead.  Will we change how the fencing is, now that we don't have llamas?  Are we going to plant some trees I have in pots?  Husband just finished with some work on our pole barn, to keep rain from rotting the wood.  I am working on some projects for Christmas.  (Yeah, I know, early to talk about Christmas, but when you are a slowish knitter, you have to plan ahead.)

Husband and I both love fall, in fact, when we had our Jeep, we called a trip we took Leaf Hunting, we'd go out where we knew there were some pretty areas, and just look at the changing leaves.  Later, we'd go Snow Hunting, so I could make a Snow Midget.  (That's a Snowman that is about a foot tall, usually up and hidden, so it's a surprise when someone finds it.)

And, of course, the flavors that come along this time of year.  I love candy corn, that seems to be one that you either love, or hate.  I bought my quota, so I am good for the season.  Then there is the pumpkin spice everything.  Ok, I like pumpkin spice, and I have had some tea, it was good, and well, the pies are lovely.  But I have to draw the line at a lot of the things.  I just heard that Spam has come out with a Pumpkin Spice Limited Time version.  Um.  No.  I think I will let others enjoy that concoction.  To each their own, I guess, I know there are ones I think are great, that others would near gag on, so I guess we all have our own  enjoyments of the season.

So, Happy Autumn!  (Unless you are Down Under, I think- Happy Spring?)

Happy, anywho!

We have had a few mornings where it wasn't quite so hot, but we aren't putting our summer clothes away just yet down here in the south. Happy Fall, Y'All!

Happy Autumn to you! I ate my quota of candy corn - love that stuff! We are driving across country on I-40. No pretty leaves... maybe we'll catch a few further east. I love fall, always have!

We just had our first frost this morning... I think it's about time for me to admit, summer clothes should be put away!

I enjoy it too, but sure have had some... Extreme reactions to offers of candy corn. Positive, and positively gross, actually... I think it still might be early, leaves are happening here, but little by very little. Fall is probably my favorite season!
