Thanksgiving.

I think Thanksgiving is the neglected holiday...

I really like when we would see family, and have a meal together.  Okay, sitting at the kid's table wasn't a biggie, but the rest was, especially since a lot of them aren't around anymore.

I remember Husband making Thanksgiving Dinner, it was pizza, because we'd had to make a flying run to Arizona, to take care of my Grandma's stuff after she died.  Mom said it was one of the best dinners she'd had... :)

I really wish that Thanksgiving would be seen as exactly that... Now Black Friday is bleeding into Thanksgiving.  (Dark Gray Thursday?)  I suppose there are some that feel that lunging into the stores to get items is terrific, but I keep wondering...

What do you give Thanks for?  I am being a bit cynical, but I have this image of someone punching someone else, stomping over the fallen, runnning to grab a humongous TV, then fending off hordes to get it home... And then getting upset because they don't have the right remote to go with it, and so they have to return to the scene of the mayhem.  And then complaining.

And I could be wrong.  I have braved Black Friday.  Once.  I wanted to know what the attraction was.

I still wonder, actually...

I guess if something is named THANKS-GIVING, can't it be that, oh, you know, we be thankful for the people in our lives. (ok, some ARE better than others, but hey, just think, if nothing else, be thankful you have a bad example. And they can think the same of you...)  Thankful for the so much that we have, the people that have to work, so we can stay safe, healthy, and secure while scrounging for that 4th helping of turkey, and just the fact we CAN be thankful.

And I am very thankful for my soap box...

Ahem...

:)

We celebrate as a family, meal and all. We are thankful for each other, for freedom of worship, for so many blessings.

Also, i am thankful that you post, if you hadn't, i would never have had you as a part of my life!
