I told you I had received a second package. This was from Darn Good Yarn. They sell yarn (duh), saris, and other items made from sari material. It otherwise would be landfilled. They are a woman owned company, and employ people who would otherwise not be able to get work for various reasons. Win for everyone, I think.
I decided to get some skirts. They came with a carry bag a scarf, also designed and made with sari material. But I missed the fact they also had bandanas, too. So, I splurged and bought myself 2 sets. So I ended up with 4 skirts, 2 scarves, bags, and bandanas. And the skirts are reversible, so I have 8 different looks, if I want.
The ding dong camera took a lousy photo color wise, but here is the skirts.
So from left to right the colors are pastel pink, (see? Told you it was a bad color photo), dusty purple with brown and gold, blue, and a dark purple. The edgings at the bottom are what the reverse looks like. Again, colors aren't even close. But they are lovely!
I do not like pink. But, if you can believe this, the first one... Is nice! It's a very spring pattern with enough other colors to make it not so overwhelmingly pink. And the pink on the inside is hot pink with orange, and big goldish polka dots. I really think I might like this! And, as you can ask any member of my family, that says something, because I don't like pink much at all.
I didn't take a picture of the other items, since the camera was not showing them well, but they are lovely, too.
And lastly, I bought a curtain, also made from sari material. This stuff was not inexpensive, but it's well made, beautiful, and I definitely have uses for all of it. Plus, it helps others, and makes me happy.
Win-win all the way around!!! Ironically, though...
I didn't buy any yarn!

Not buying more yarn is a big deal. These look beautiful and it almost makes me wish I could wear skirts.
