Trying to be thankful.

 Linky bits

So. I try to avoid politics, and I am not going to get into it here, but there's a reason I haven't been blogging for a few days...

1. I am thankful Halloween is past, less candy sitting around to tempt me. Well, when the stuff I have is gone, anyway...

2. I am thankful I remembered to put a project all together, it's a beaded Christmas garland I have wanted to try for some time. I have all the pieces, the crochet hook, the instructions... Off to the races!!!

3. Things are going pretty well on the Christmas blanket, I just need to work on getting things sewn together, once I finish with what seems like several zillion small crochet blocks...

4. Went to see a friend, he's got early stage dementia. It's sad to see someone who was a surgeon, and now has trouble with complex thought. But he's still "there", mostly, and we want to support and help him as we can, and let him know we appreciate him.

5. I am thankful for the change of seasons. While I love working in my garden, and getting lots and LOTS of tomatoes, the slowdown to putting the garden to bed, and daydreaming about next year's garden, that is good, too.

6. I am thankful for the stealth kitty visiting. No clue where it came from, and it's shy as all get out when I go outside, but kitty outside, means less mice inside.

7. I am once again thankful for my ankle working. I have started closing down the garden, and helped Mom and Dad put summer stuff upstairs. The ankle held up quite well!

8. I am glad for cool weather, cocoa and marshmallows are not really a summer drink...

9. I am glad to have visited a knitting group I was invited to. Nice change of pace, and I will probably go fairly regularly, as I get the chance.

10. Thankful for doctors. I have a new doctor, and she was a delight. I sort of get tired of new doctors all the time... But new doctors beat NO doctors!

Take care, be well, and have a good week!

I'm praying for all of us. Your list is wonderful.

Our neighbourhood is crawling with cats but it hasn't reduced the number of field mice chewing through hoses carrying antifreeze in cars, or chewing through the shed door to reach grass seed. Luckily, I've not had one in the house. Yet.

I tried to comment, but I think it disappeared.

I “hear” the underlying issue. This is a very healthy way to respond - gratitude. I need to follow your example.

Good 'oT list. While I abhor cold, the mildness of the current season has made it bearable. (And I've renewed by resolve to, on the cold days coming, not express surprise.)
