Iiiiiiit's THANKFUL time!

 Linky bits

1. A really strange thankful: I had an absolutely miserable night trying to sleep... Tossing, turning, just rotten. I ended up getting in something of a twist. Then I heard something in my knee pop. Oh, #&@*!!

But it stopped hurting... And in the morning, I could nearly immediately put weight on it. Walked the better part of the morning, first in my garden, then at a couple different stores. No pain, to speak of. I don't know how long it will last, but having my knee work again, pretty much pain free?

Had not been on my bingo card...

2. The garden class I took, I was able to use one of the things I learned. My Dad loves carrots, and I have tried and tried to grow them, without much success. Well, the teacher mentioned covering the seeds with a board to keep the moisture in. I planted them in a pot, and used a drip pan that fit inside it. I now have lots of teeny tiny sprouts!

3. The garden is coming along, but I am so thankful that Husband has been willing to help. Gardening is very much NOT his thing, so I try not to ask for help much, but we bought soil bags. They were rained on, making them just about too heavy for me. Husband wheeled them over, and put them in the beds I needed refreshed. I raked and got them ready. Then, after swearing I would only get 6 tomatoes, I ended up with 9. (11, actually, but I accidentally toasted a couple when the sun heated up my greenhouse way too warm for them.) He put up yet another tomato trellis for me. Much appreciated!

4. Was able to pick up a few skeins of light nylon like yarn, so I can knit summer socks. Woolen is lovely to knit, but heavily sweaty feet in animal fiber... Just don't smell good!

5. I have yet to win a game, but I actually got a setup in chess to work. Husband saw it coming from several miles away, but he approved of my trying strategy. (And not walking into obvious captures for a change...)

Cough...

6. I managed to get a lot of photos removed and put in the cloud (?), so my phone seems to be running better. Now if I can get some of the knitting patterns off and printed, maybe it will just zoom along!

7. My volunteer crookneck has a true leaf on it, not just the starting baby leaves, so there is hope!

8. Dad had been talking about wanting to watch Mr. Magoo. He hadn't seen it in years.  I decided to look it up on YouTube, and found the very first episode for him. He enjoyed it a lot.

9. I received two books from a friend. One is amigurumi, the other knitting. Total geeky nerdy stuff we both enjoy. I haven't tried the amigurumi, but the book gives plenty of instructions. But I already see one pattern I would like to knit in the other... I need about 3 dozen arms, or several hundred more years to do all the crafting projects on my list...

10. I was able to get a new watch. Depressingly, I got the watch, band, battery and all, cheaper than I can get a new watch band. I hold out hope on getting a new watch band still, but when the watch was that inexpensive, I will now have a backup!

Enjoy your week, stay cool, and safe, and happy!
