1. Was able to get a dinner together... I made one item a night, bread, deviled eggs, and was not swamped, trying to do the day of.
2. I figured we'd have mashed potatoes, I had not made our traditional scalloped potatoes. Mom makes those. Husband piped up, said he was willing to try. I found several recipes, let him have at it. One less thing for me to deal with!
3. Mom had a ham in the freezer. Didn't have to shop for much!
4. Was able to convince Mom's stove to work for me, cooked up the ham nicely.
5. Worked on a knitted wrap I have been trying to design in my head. Starting to get there!
6. Found the perfect crochet hook for little oops in the stitches. Very fine, fuzzy, hairy yarn, and I have missed a few stitches.
7. Dinner came out well, and we all ate heartily. Husband got a big compliment from Mom, she is retiring from Scalloped potatoes, he is doing it now! ;)
8. Husband was also able to fix a problem with the heater. Annoying, but not a disaster.
9. Clean up goes fast with several people! :)
10. Weather was nice, so taking things from one house to another was no problem!
