I have not much for v.  Before the A to Z challenge started, I sat down and wrote blog ideas for each and every letter.  Except... this one.  I looked at a lot of other blogs today, and people had such neat ideas.  Valentines, VHS tapes, Void, and several others.

I have... "Vague".  So, I will run with that.   Okay, maybe amble somewhat quickly...

Meh, whatever.

I have ideas, some bounce, fully formed, in my head.  Those are nice, I just jot down the idea, and bang, done.

Then there are the vague ones.  I think of some little thing.  Oh, there is a knitting pattern I like.  Wonder what it would look like in a blanket?  What would go with it?  Colors?  Then I get out a sketch pad and let my mind wander, doodling little patterns around the main one, or deciding the pattern would be better as a side pattern, not the main part.  Or, maybe it would look good as the whole pattern, like when I made a basket weave stitch for a baby blanket.  I just sort of let my mind wander to other blankets I've made, things that looked good on the others I've made, and what I am willing to work with.

Or drawing.  I will sit down, blank paper and pens or pencils, and sketch, say, a dragon.  I don't really have an set thing to draw, normally.  I just start to draw, and then a picture shows up.  I have been told it looks like I am tracing, as if I see the picture as I am drawing it.  I don't, I just see what happens.  Odd, but I do draw well enough to have people recognize what I am trying for, most times...

Writing is a mixed bag.  In my writing, the characters are generally in the bang, done category.  The story, what happens, not so much.  I will start to write, and then have the thought, X wouldn't do this...  That can make things take for ever, but I figure, if I go with that thought, perhaps I will get to see what does happen.  And most of the time, it does work.  Not always, but enough that I will continue with my odd little doings...

So, I guess I will call this enough.  Looks vaguely like a blog...

______________________________________________________

I said on my S blog I would start over with my scale day.  Today's weigh in was 238.8.  So, the little list to the right will be updated to start from today.  Wednesday will normally be when I comment on what I have accomplished, for good or ill.

This week, I held steady.  We have most of the candy and goodies out of the house now, so I will be able to have less temptation.  Talked with the doc, he said new shoes probably won't help my exercising. Yay...

I now have to decide if I want to go see the bone doc, and see if I need "adjustments" (read: most likely yet another surgery), just deal with it, (which is my choice at the moment), or see if some other form of exercise is possible, elliptical or rowing machine, something that would be less pounding on the leg.  Or just buck up and walk, and hope the pain lessens as I lose weight, like before.  We shall see what the next week brings...

I promised my Husband I would lose weight for the trip to Alaska, but to fooey with him, I want to lose the weight for me!  I feel better, I probably look better, and it sure would make me move and groove better.  So, onward!  CHARGE, EVEN!!!

  1. I'd like to give you some Vague advice on exercising. I'm fat and have given up on ever being thin. I reached what should have been my adult weight when I was ten. But I do like feeling as good as I can and ten years ago I started swimming. At public pools, people are incredibly friendly. Swimming makes me feel good and there's no stress on the joints. I don't particularly like sweating and you don't sweat much when you swim, but you do get your heartbeat up and that's good for you metabolism. As a diabetic, I credit swimming for keeping me off insulin all these years. So you might give it a try. Food for thought. CHARGE!

    1. I would love to swim, but the nearest pool is about 30 minutes from home... So I am reluctant to start. I have thought about bugging Husband to build a pond on our place to swim in... Then I think about the cougars and coyotes and other critters. Uh. So, yes, swimming is a great choice, just sort of inconvenient at this point.

    1. Yes, I try to. I have a couple little notepads, and I have a clip board with me most of the time...

  3. That's the spirit, do it for you! Nothing vague in that, and when it becomes your own thing, for you, you get it done.

  4. I think you picked a perfect V word. I'm vague a lot these days as age advances. You did a great job with the word. All the best with your pain. It's a shame when it hits you in a part you use to move around with. I truly hope it will be resolved one way or another so you can walk freely again. I used to enjoy reading about your walks.

  5. V is for voluptuous? That would have been a great one!

I never planned my blogs each day, just stuck with a theme and it worked. We're almost at the end1 Woohoo, we made it!
