Friends in... Cold places?

I have been contemplating making myself a shawl.  Actually, I made one, standard triangle shawl, but I don't wear it much, for two reasons. It's a bit foo-foo, so I don't want to get it dirty. And, it slips off, unless I have it locked against my neck.

No.

Don't like things up against my neck, so... Hmm.  I started looking at ponchos, ruanas, that sort of thing. Good, but not still what I was wanting.

I like vests. And I tend toward being cold on my shoulders and... Front. Vests are much less likely to get tangled from draping on things. Couldn't I find a shawl that would be something like that?  Hmmmm.

I happened on a knitting article talking about a Sontag shawl. It comes down more or less to your rear in back, and over the shoulders, cross your front, tie, or button in the back, something like an apron.

This... Looks good! It looks like it won't snag much, would stay in place, and would keep my cold parts covered.

This is an example from another blog. The pictures are about halfway down.

It has a few other names, one that made me chuckle, "Bosom Friend". So sooner or later, I think I might try one.

Need to finish a project or two I am working on now, but this just seems like it is right for me. I might even frog another project that turned out to be a large pain, and I am pretty sure I don't care if I finish.

Twofer!!

It looks comfy, cozy, and yes, it won't bother your neck.
