Inchworm, and no rings.

One more raised bed cleaned up and ready. I decided to try using my Dad's grubbing hoe, rather than pulling the weeds by hand.

What a difference!

I was able to get the majority finished in about an hour, as a opposed to about 3 to 4 hours... And I was able to even it out, while I was at it. I also was able to scrape off the grass taking over my little back patio area. Still a lot of cleaning to do on the patio, but at least I can FIND the patio now.

I put down some fertilizer, then newspaper, and then... Getting the mulch.

Husband was in the middle of his own project, so I managed somehow to get the much from where it was to the bed. I would lift the wheel barrow and pull, it would move maybe a few inches. Drop. Lift, repeat. It was just about all I could pull. But, 20 or so minutes later, I was able to pour it into the bed. Which led to my realization that it was still almost more than I could lift, and I really had to work not to spill it, or hurt myself. It's in there, and Husband took pity on me, getting a much more substantial amount to help fill the rest!

One oddball thing I found... I can't wear my rings when I garden. Probably not the worst thing, I won't hopefully lose them that way, but even wearing gloves, the rings dig in and pinch my fingers. So, I remove them before, come back in after, demung, so I don't look like Swamp Thing, and then put my rings on again. I keep finding strange quirks like that as I garden.

Guess it keeps me busy!

It probably is a good thing. I read a story once of a lady who lost her ring in the garden and many, many years later found it when a carrot she pulled up from the ground was "wearing" it!
