Husband gave me an adult trike for my birthday. Actually before, but that was because of it being on sale. ANYWAY. I named it Mobile Max.
I have rebuilt enough strength in my legs to start riding it. So I have been. I have even been riding enough that the odometer actually shows more mileage when I am finished. When I was starting, I don't know if I even had point something milage. But I am getting more proficient at it... And so I can go further.
I wear safety gear, helmet, flag, dayglow vest. Husband put reflective tape on the back, by the lights. I wish my helmet was dayglow, too, but I'm probably fairly visible.
I found that I have to pedal like crazy to go up a hill, but I can go down with no problems. I keep wondering if that counts as HIIT training. I know it counts as exercise! My knees and legs are not completely sure about it, but I am gradually getting better.
One tiny problem, the neighborhood dogs don't seem to like bicycles. I go by, and if I slow down for any reason, like a hill, the dog there goes bananas. Which gets the next dog going. Soon, all the dogs in the area have made a general announcement that I am riding by. Sure the neighbors love that... Meh. It's not like I'm teasing them. And as I get better, I will have more choices on travel routes...
Mobile Max, whooptie dooooooo!
(If you are wondering about the name, it's loosely based on a very old commercial that used to play in this area, Mogul Mouse commercial.

The first time you went by, the dog barked because you were a new thing and he wanted to warn his family of the new thing. And his barking worked, you left. Every time you ride past now, he assumes his barking works, because you leave and so he is cemented in the behavior. The other dogs follow suit and again, you keep going.
You can't tell a dog the person would have left anyway, the dog knows the barking is what did it, and so they keep doing it. Odd but fun creatures, dogs.
Enjoy your biking!
