Happy Halloween!

Let's face it, Harry Potter he is not...

Anyway, Have a Happy Halloween!
(Did you dress up?  I was a hippie this year...)

Sunday Supplement, late edition.

Today was my class reunion.  Didn't go.  (Didn't care, either.)  I did, however, take a tour of my old high school.  I was surprised at some of the changes, and disappointed, in a few.  (The school had an award winning shop area when I went there, it's now rather like a hobby shop, and NO AUTO SHOP.  None.  This is really disappointing to someone who went there and really got a lot out of the "non-book" oriented classes.  And this area is still rather blue collar, so it means that kids will have to look elsewhere for Shop 101.  Too bad, I think.)  But they do have some interesting additions, real buildings now, instead of modulars, and two gyms.  So, things come, things go.

*****

On a completely unrelated note, when I was at the National Night Out, one of the firemen gave me a hat for my god daughter, (no clue if she actually will want it, but if she doesn't, I know a little boy that would like it, too), but I had to model it on Buc...

Heaven help you if you saw THIS mug through the smoke!

Happy Sunday!

Happy Fat Tuesday! Mardi Gras!

Happy Mardi Gras! Fe do do! (I don't know if I spelled that right, but it means party...)

And, of course, to celebrate, Buc had to wear his finest. I begin to think he is the love child of Milton Berle and Carmen Miranda...

And he's adopted a kitten. Yet to have a name for this one. Now if I can just find a girl for Buc, I will be able to waste even MORE time with silly photos commemorating holidays...

Hope you have a happy day, and don't celebrate TOOO much.

Happy Easter!

Flopsy and Mopsy say, "Happy Easter"! Buc wanted to know where Peter Cottontail was, I told him I think in the garden (as the story goes). Last I heard, he was headed out, muttering something about Hassenfeffer...

Honest, I have been knitting!

Well, I noticed I haven't put a thing in for a long time about what I have been knitting. Some items went to Rabbitch, mostly hats, and I think a scarf. But as you can see above, I have been knitting a lot for Dulaan. And Buc had to pose with the hats, as you can see... I have made socks, (in fact, have a set on the needles), hats, scarf or two, and I also have a kid sweater I am making in two colors. I will have to take a picture of it when I am finished with it, I really like the pattern, I just had to adjust it, it was for a light weight sweater, I just doubled the yarn, and made the smallest size. Since it's for children (mostly, but I made more adult size socks, as I saw lots of pictures of barefoot adults... -60* F, and they are barefoot! GAH!!!) I am also knitting a purse, for me. I have a knitting pattern a day calendar, and the sweater, and purse pattern both come from that.

The sock pattern is one I have had for a long bit, it's two needle socks. When I was first learning to knit, I had a terrible time with double pointeds, but still wanted to make socks. I came upon this pattern "Mary Ann Croisant's Two Needle Socks". If you look up the pattern, it has a little blurb about her being in seminary, and this was around 96ish. I was curious about whether she had graduated, (or whatever it is seminarians do...), and started hunting for her name. I was just fishing, more or less, but I did find her! After a little email chat, I found out she has indeed graduated, or whatever, and is now ministering to the elderly. I think it's neat, someone who helps other people, made a pattern that helps me keep other people (well, and me, I have three pair), warm!

I mowed today. This started out as a good idea. However, I really need to grease the reel, it was pushing waaaaaaaaay too hard, but I know partly the grass was higher than a reel mower is good for, so I did finish about a 1/4th of the yard, anyway. I will just plug away. What the heck, I was told by my doc I need to excercise, so mowing the lawn with a non-motor mower definitely drew a sweat! I will either mow the lawn, or get really good upper arm and leg strength! But, I hope I do get the lawn mowed... Sometime. Eh. Pray for dry weather. Hmm. Then again...

Top 'O The Mornin' To Ye!

Happy St. Patrick's Day from Cat and my new photo pal Buc the Cat, who you can see loves Blarney... (Like I don't...) Why is his name Buc? Aye, Begosh and Begorrah, it's short for Butt Ugly Cat! He is willing to adorn my blog, so expect to see his smiling face occasionally. Doesn't he remind you of a keystone cop with that hat?

(And if you noticed it, yes I changed the blog format, I though this one was a bit clearer, and more in tune with my theme. What ever that is...)

Husband and I went for a quick trip on the water yesterday. He was upset with a rattle the boat was making, and fixed it with a wood shim. And because the sun was shining, and it was a terrific day And because he just wanted to check that there was no more rattle, we went out...

There are several of these little waterfalls, I missed getting them when we went out in the winter, they were covered in icicles. The spring weather makes them just burst from the rocks. We found several of them on our "just checking the rattle" trip, took several similar pictures, but the camera started to die. Darn batteries... You just get the hang of taking pictures without dumping yourself overboard, and then they give up the ghost... But there was one more I will add,

The mountains were out yesterday!
